Transformational Leadership

Cambridge Leadership Associates refers to Leadership as a system.  In order for leaders to be successful they must possess the skills to adapt to an organizations changing needs.  Leading through adaptive challenges means that you go beyond what is simply expected of you as a leader.  You demonstrate the ability to take risks, you know your resources and you understand their strengths and how best to position them in the organization in order for them to make the greatest impact.  A transformational leader has the ability to assess the challenges the organization is facing and then put in to place action plans that meet the need.  Transformational leaders not only see leadership as a system, but they view themselves as a system understanding that they possess values, strengths, interests and preferences.  These are the values that few situations can change-they are at the core of what makes the person in to who they are and what they will ultimately contribute to both their personal lives and their work lives.
