New England Women Business Owners (NEWBO) Elects Celia Couture as New President

Boston, MA, September 12, 2006 – New England Women Business Owners (NEWBO), the premier organization for women business owners in New England, has announced that Celia Couture was elected as its new President.  She will serve a two-year term, from July 2006 through 2008. She previously served as Recording Secretary 2004-2005 and President-Elect from 2005-2006.

 “NEWBO plays an incredibly important role in the lives of many of the women-owned businesses in the area.  I’m proud to be assuming the role of NEWBO President and look forward to helping the organization continue to realize its important mission – providing support, education, and resources that women need as they start and grow their own businesses,” said Couture. “With a strong Board in place I know we will be able to achieve many of the goals I will focus on during my tenure including increasing diversity in ur membership, engaging more members in volunteer programs, offering additional value for more experienced business owners, and providing members opportunities to give back to the community. With the support and assistance of a talented board of directors and volunteers, we will achieve these goals and drive the growth of one of the region’s most respected organizations for women business owners.”
