COUTURE SPEAKS AT CUPA
Helping University HR Professionals Integrate 360 Degree Feedback
Tewksbury, MA, April 27, 2004 – CC Consulting has been selected
by the College and University Professional Association for Human
Resources (CUPA-HR) to deliver a case study at the 2005 CUPA-HR Regional Conference
to be held in Boston May 1-4. The case study will be delivered in conjunction
with Amy Barnes, Director of HR from Colgate University. CC Consulting
has worked with Colgate University over the past year to introduce
a new type of assessment process for University staff. The project
focused on implementing a 360-degree evaluation tool and unique performance
management process that is utilized with all University Staff reporting
to the President. The program was initiated by University President
Rebecca Chopp. States Chopp “Learning new ways of doing things
and becoming a stronger leader is important to the meaningfulness of
a position and certainly should be the mantra of leaders in an educational
institution.”
CC Consulting initially structured a pilot program in April 2004. As
a result of positive feedback on, and support for, the process the
360 degree evaluation was rolled out to all university personnel.
The session delivered by Couture and Amy Barnes to college and university
HR leaders will be introduced to demonstrate how Colgate University’s
senior staff embraced a Performance Management System and 360/multi-rater
feedback to improve the leadership, teaming and management skills of
its staff. By introducing a confidential feedback tool to the university,
Colgate’s leaders were able to focus on development areas that
better align with the mission and vision of the university. This process
driven system helped the staff support key strategic objectives and
provided confidential feedback leading to stronger leadership.
In addition a train-the-trainer session was developed for the Director
of HR. This created an on-site resource for university staff members
to facilitate feedback session and analyze reports.
Participants will learn how HR partnered with CC Consulting to develop
a performance and development planning process using multi-rater feedback
which included:
- The Performance Management Model
- Mission/Vision setting
- Job Description
- Core Competency Models
- Leadership Development Models (behaviors)
- Multi-rater Feedback
- Coaching
- Development
- Performance Evaluation
